Melbourne Veterinary Centre has been practicing at our current site for over 40 years, originally based on the opposite site of the roundabout in Melbourne House. At this former site we were a mixed-practice treating a wide range of animals, including carrying out healthcare for the pit ponies, which were key to the industrial development of the area.
Our current site was converted from a three-storey house into a fully functional veterinary practice, officially opened by a Member of Parliament in 1971. Melbourne Veterinary Centre’s companion animal side has since grown and has developed to such an extent that we now treat these family members exclusively.
Looking forward, we were acquired by CVS (UK) Ltd in 2000, as one of the first practices within this forward thinking and dynamic group of veterinary service providers.
We are a fully-equipped and modern practice based in Cannock with a sister practice, Mercia Veterinary Centre, based in Tamworth. Our team is caring and compassionate, with strong community values and continued involvement with a number of charities.
We have many dedicated vets and nurses with a variety of certifications and awards, as well as four members of our support team who are Bronze level trained in the BVRA Accredited Veterinary Receptionist Award.
