Laser therapy is a completely non-invasive treatment that uses a beam of laser light to deeply penetrate tissue without damaging it. This energy induces a biological response within the cells called “photobiomodulation” which helps to reduce pain, reduce inflammation and increases healing speed.
There are no side effects and is completed in consult by our physiotherapist or one of our laser therapy trained nurses, with no need for sedation or fur clipping. Treatment takes approximately three to nine minutes per site to be treated, and multiple sites can be targeted in one session if required.
Laser therapy is great for patients with conditions such as:
- Arthritis
- Post-surgical wounds
- Healing of traumatic wounds
- Lick granulomas
- Sprains/strains/fractures
- Degenerative joint disease
- Ear disease
- Dental disease
Laser therapy has been proven to reduce the amount of pain relief required in these conditions.
Many insurance companies may cover for this kind of treatment, so we recommend getting in touch with your pets insurer to see if your policy will cover it.
